India’s Most Livable City: Palava City
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has an ambition to develop 100 smart cities in India during his tenure. His plan is to make the cities more citizens friendly and take the load of the existing cities. For this we have to develop more satellite cities around already existing ones. Like near Mumbai, we have Thane, Navi Mumbai, Kalyan Dombivali, Mira Bhayander, and Vasai Virar. But these cities are not smart and citizen friendly.
A Smart city is one where everything is on time. For example, if a person travels on a Monorail and gets down on a particular station to catch a Metro train. Then the time of monorail arrival and the departure of metro train will be same i.e. all the public transport systems are synchronized. If a person is walking on footpath and wants to cross a busy road, there will be Pannikin buttons available which he can press and stop the traffic for some time. All public zones will be Wi-Fi enabled to public for free access to internet. The traffic will be controlled by a central system for smooth flow.
All such features in a city will make a city more livable. Some of most livable cities in the world are Paris, New York, London, Singapore, Dubai, etc. Their exceptional planning and development have made them more livable.
Lodha Group is developing Palava City, near Mumbai. The city is located in Dombivali and is spread across 4000 acres of land parcel. It is around ¼th the size of Mumbai. This city will be the first smart city in India. In this city people won’t just live but flourish. Lodha Group has tied up with IBM for developing smart technology of the city.
The city will have all the busses GPS enabled, so we can track which bus will arrive and at what time. The city will have Pannikin button for pedestrians. The city will have cameras installed at every corner for safety and for emergency. The city has already started an emergency and grievances number for the residents. The city will have top level security for its citizens. The city will have Wi-Fi zones for free. The city will have more than 60% open space.
By 2025, Palava City will become one of the top 50 cities in the world to live in. Palava City will become an inspiration to all the cities that will be built in the future.
