Lodha Palava: Sister City of Mumbai
Palava city towards sustained growth of Mumbai Metropolitan Region
Palava city is envisioned to reduce the growing population of Mumbai city. This city will have an overall capacity to take 1 lack families or 5 lack people. Mumbai being one of the most populous cities in the world requires an alternate place to divert all the excess population it carries at this point of time. Palava will fulfill all the needs for a modern city to Mumbaikars which is more spacious, population free and more importantly traffic free.
The planning of Palava city started from 2001 by Lodha Group which brought the land parcel where now Casa Bella and Casa Bella Gold stand. By 2008, Lodha Group had brought 4000 acres of land parcel which lies in between Ambernath Pipeline road and Taloja. World renowned master planner Sasaki Associates were roped in to plan this region. Considering the huge population it will take and the concept to make it one of the best cities in the world had got the attention of Sasaki. Sasaki kept aside 60% of this city to be open in terms of parks, gardens and other recreation activity.
The proximity of Palava to Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane gives it an advantage. One can reach SoBo and Western Mumbai in less than an hour. The new International Airport to be developed in Navi Mumbai gives an added advantage to the development of Palava. The upcoming Ghatkopar Ghansoli link road, Airoli Dombivali tunnel, Virar Alibaug multi modal corridor will bring Palava more closely to the island city and its never sleeping neighbors.
