Palava City’s Inspiration: London
London: Is the capital of England and United Kingdom which is the most populous city with 13 million inhabitants. London is situated besides Thames River and has seen settlements for the past two millennia. London as a metropolitan city is well connected by road, rail, water and air. The major connected transport in London being the London Underground most commonly called as ‘The Tube’. The Tube is spread across 402 kilometers with 270 stations. 52% of The Tube is above ground; remaining being underground. The Tube is combination of 11 metro lines which rides about 1.2 billion passengers on an annual basis, which makes it the 12th busiest transit system in the world.
Some of the lines in The Tube are Bakerloo, Central, Circle, District, Hammersmith, Jubilee, etc. The travel time within London gets to less than 45 minutes while travelling by The Tube.
Palava: Is a smart city that is being developed by Lodha Group. Palava takes inspiration from London due to its connectivity. As London is well connected, Palava is well connected to other parts of Mumbai Metropolitan Region. It takes, less than an hour to travel from Palava to other parts of Mumbai like South Bombay, BKC, International Airport, Thane, Vashi, etc. The upcoming International Airport in Navi Mumbai and the Monorail between Kharghar and Kalyan will increase its connectivity. Proposed infrastructure projects for Palava are Virar Alibaug Multi Modal Corridor, Ghatkopar Ghansoli Link Road, Airoli Dombivali Tunnel, etc.
